Jardins d’Été

Jardins d'Été is a series of videos of full-bloom flowers filmed at night. The flowers sway gently in the breeze and are highlighted by a spotlight, appearing as if they are dancing and emerging from the darkness. Their shifting hues of pink, blue, and green make them the focal point of this digital painting.

Drawing inspiration from Monet's Water Lilies series, Quayola deconstructs and reimagines these iconic images in a modern context. The scale of the work is similar to the original paintings and when presented as a physical installation, it is screened as a multichannel installation at a human scale. The immersive experience allows viewers to fully immerse themselves in the memory of a landscape, a nod to the Impressionist desire to transport viewers to a different time and place.
